Things I Have Learned This Week

1. Sometimes, the jokes just write themselves Þ

2. The Dalai Lama's pizza is a little hard to digest.

3. A man left his job to take up another job. People got a bit worked up. They'll calm down.

The Smiths are on the cover of this week's NME, out on Wednesday (June 19), marking the 25th anniversary of 'The Queen Is Dead' coming out. Here we've compiled Morrissey's best quotes from over the years – click through the gallery to read his pearls of wisdom (and about how he wanted to assault comedian Vic Reeves).

4. The NME are marking the 25th anniversary of the Smiths album The Queen Is Dead with Morrissey's 50 most memorable quotes. Highly entertaining.

5. A Wolverhampton couple* got caught up in the Vancouver riots.

KILLER COVERS #004 - Paul Weller - (Rose Royce's) Wishing On A Star

In 2004 Paul Weller worked through a bout of writer's block by recording a covers album. Named after the Amsterdam venue where it was recorded, Studio 150 showcased Weller's take on songs originally recorded by artists as diverse as Gil Scott Heron, The Carpenters, Neil Young and Jimi Hendrix.

This excellent version of the 1977 Rose Royce hit reached No.11 in the UK chart.

You will note, and no doubt appreciate the fact that at no point in this post have I used that ridiculous term M**f***er.

You're welcome.

MORE COWBELL!

Ever heard or read the expression "More Cowbell" and wondered what it meant?

Laydeez and Gentlemen I bring you the classic Saturday Night Live sketch about the recording of Blue Oyster Cult's (Don't Fear) The Reaper, featuring Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken. Mixing music and comedy has rarely been funnier (though Kanye West comes close every time he opens his mouth).

Turn it up loud!
